December marked the end of two graduate classes that I thoroughly enjoyed teaching: a global management class at Thunderbird and a leadership communication class at Grand Canyon University.
The T-Bird class had 56 students from all over the world who brought prescient personal insight to our discussions on culture, leading change, team dynamics and employee motivation. Many class members had already worked for international companies and all of them are in a degree program that emphasizes global business.
The GCU course is a class I designed that’s being taught both online and in a classroom setting. The students brought their “A” game every week and did a killer in-class presentation on the power of emotion in leadership communication. They also brought a ton of real-world experience from their careers in non-profits, insurance, the US Army and higher education management.
I absolutely love the teaching I do. And it’s a huge bonus to work with such inspiring students and to teach for two universities that give faculty the tools to succeed.
